How to (Re)Define Your Career and Personal Brand from the Ground Up in a New Market
On average 110 people move to Austin per day — most without a clue of how their life will unfold, or how they’ll make a positive name for themselves. Since November 2012, entrepreneur and accredited PR pro Ryan Sheehy has worked diligently to build her life from the ground up, only knowing two people when she first arrived in Austin.
During her presentation, she’ll share how she:
- Let go of her comfort zone in Orlando, Florida and gave into the unknown zone
- Envisioned best-case scenarios and punched fear in the face
- Defined a new personal brand and invested in her community first
- Developed her business by getting out of her head and into her heart
Now thriving in the capital city of Texas, Ryan will share her tips for success and hopes to inspire you to make your dreams a reality, too.
Meet Ryan Sheehy
Ryan Sheehy launched her PR career in Orlando, the theme park capital of the world, and has more than 15 years experience representing companies like Broadway Across America and SeaWorld Parks & Resorts. Her ingenuity was formed by promoting brands that enliven its guests and inspire positive environmental change.
For the past nine years, Sheehy made her mark in the lives of college students and helped launch hundreds of careers. She was a lecturer at Texas State University School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the University of Central Florida Nicholson School of Communication. Sheehy is active in the Public Relations Society of America Austin chapter and leads candidates through the accreditation process.
Currently in the evolution of her own personal brand, Sheehy is transiting to become a mixed media artist who will serve as a motivational speaker addressing the stigmas surrounding mental illness.
